There is a silky – almost magical – quality to the touch of baby skin. Stroking the flashes of squidgyness – like premier leather sanded and buffed to a fine grain – is restorative as much to strangers as parents. They are the kings and queens of cuddles. Milk driven clouds of texture.
Perhaps it’s the contact that reminds us of a life where food and sleep knew no boundaries. Or the promise of so much experience to come. So fresh to the earth these little creatures are.
