Taittinger Brut NV

Champagne goes straight to my head. Well if you’re like me and immolate every meal in half an hour and have to constantly eat throughout the day then -yes- champagne on an empty stomach is asking for trouble. CO2 from the carbonation forces open your pyloric sphincter so you get a gut-full of alcohol. Not to mention the CO2 helps surcharge the assimilation into the blood stream. Ooooeeeee!!!

Taittinger Brut NV Champagne France RRP $100 AUD

‘Deep straw in colour on the nose wafts of lime with a certain flintyness. Brioche and general stocking of baked goods in there too. The complexity of the wine, is not overshadowed by the racy acidity, though it is in its own right quite tart. Layered over the palate, the mousse is fine, withfinesse of notable length. Two outstanding points to note. Fine mousse. Balance of fruit characters with aged complexity.’

I loooooove champagne. Proper champagne, that is. Although I do hit up the sparkling wine every weekend… the buzz is good, but when it starts to wear off… not cool. Of course by then I’m already on the vodka. Binge drinking much?

Alyce, there sure is something about slinging a classy champange flute in your fingers that just oozes style and pizazz.

I would love to drink like this every weekend, though I would have to do a whole lot more wine reviews for anything gratis like that.

Binge drink?!? HELL YES! thats the only way i do drink….i mean alcohol is it self is calorific so i don’t want to be stacking on the pounds every night. would rather hit it hard one night of the week.

If budget is an issue- this may sound gross but you havt to try it….Passion POP and Bacardi. mix the passion pop like you would coke, lemonade etc. gets you shitfaced in no time….
i can’t believe i just wrote that… oh well my secret is out now…

Budget is always an issue with me. I can honestly say I never did the Passion Pop thing as a juvie… I was hardcore. Straight into the spirits. And Barcardi has never been big with me. However. I am intrigued. What does it taste like?

Gday Jason! Stumbled on your wine blog through Matt’s site – great work mate, will have to sit down one night with a glass of something nice and red and sift through your work!
